History of Jamaican Music at Ada
The Ifficial Reggae Movement brings a live, interactive history of Jamaican music to Ada (Sawyer Garrett) Park on Saturday, August 1, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. Through live performance, storytelling, and audience participation, the program walks through the origins and evolution of reggae, with a focus on how guitar, keys, bass, and percussion build the signature sound. Youth and adults can try rhythms and explore instruments while learning the cultural context behind the music. A family-friendly afternoon that treats the music as something to experience, not just hear.
