Haunted Halsted Halloween Parade

The 29th annual Haunted Halsted Halloween Parade returns to the Northalsted neighborhood, a free-to-watch procession that Fodor's Travel ranks among the top ten in the US. The parade steps off at 7:30 PM on Saturday, October 31, from Halsted and Belmont, heading south to Cornelia. Before and after, there's a costume contest with $4,000 in cash prizes across five categories (Character, Creative, Scary, Youth under 13, and Group), with registration opening at 6:30 PM and the awards show at 8:30 PM. The neighborhood also runs a full slate of Halloween events throughout October, including after-parties, a Pup Crawl, and trick-or-treating.
