Harsh Readers Circle: Special Event with The Bridge: ConstelNation

The Harsh Readers Circle pairs its November selection, James Baldwin’s *Giovanni’s Room*, with a special afternoon honoring Chicago’s role as a crossroads for Black musical migration. The event features the grand finale of the Bridge’s 2026 ConstelNation tour, a transatlantic jazz and improvised-music network that this year spotlights flute and clarinet. On Thursday, November 12, from 1:30 to 4:00 PM at Woodson Regional, the session blends a book discussion with live performance, drawing a direct line between Baldwin’s expatriate novel and the city’s deep musical patrimony. Registration is required.
