Join author and educator Christian Sheppard for a gallery conversation exploring connections between the classical world and America's favorite summer pastime: baseball. Visit artworks that help explain how Homer’s The Odyssey and other epic tales are echoed in the dramas of heroic players vying for victory on the dirt diamond and emerald field. Consider the courage of Achilles alongside that of Jackie Robinson, and compare Odysseus's cunning with the crafty pitching of Greg Maddux.
