Freaky Fungi

The world of fungi has a genuinely macabre side — bleeding tooth fungus, ghost mushrooms that glow in the dark, and plants called vampire's bane and Jack-O'-Lantern — and this talk at the Edgewater library dives into the science behind the spooky names. Liz Weinstein, president of the Illinois Mycological Association and a mycological photographer, leads the program on Saturday, October 3, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.
