Film Screening: The Martian (2015)

A free screening of Ridley Scott’s *The Martian* (2015) at the Vodak-East Side library branch, part of the 2026 One Book, One Chicago season tied to Samantha Harvey’s *Orbital*. The film follows a stranded astronaut surviving on Mars through ingenuity while his crew and NASA race to bring him home. The 141-minute, PG-13 feature runs Sunday afternoon, November 8, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, with English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. A solid, low-key way to connect with the season’s space-themed reading without leaving the neighborhood.
