Film Screening: Round Midnight (1986)
A screening of Bertrand Tavernier's 1986 jazz drama *Round Midnight*, part of the Lozano Branch's summer movie series "Chapters of the City." Dexter Gordon plays a fictionalized version of Lester Young, a saxophonist adrift in Paris, with François Cluzet as the young admirer who tries to pull him back. Herbie Hancock's Oscar-winning score is a highlight, and the cast includes Hancock himself plus a cameo from Martin Scorsese. The film runs 131 minutes, is rated R, and screens on Monday, July 27, from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing will be provided.
