Film Screening: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024)

Tim Burton's sequel to his 1988 cult classic screens at Thurgood Marshall Library on Sunday, October 4, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. In this installment, a grown-up Lydia Deetz returns to Winter River with her daughter Astrid, who accidentally reopens the portal to the afterlife — and yes, Beetlejuice comes back. The 105-minute film is rated PG-13, and English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing will be available. This is part of the library system's Community Cinema series, with similar screenings at branches across Chicago.
