Earth Jam & Family Day in Sankofa for the Earth at Burnham

A community celebration of Sankofa for the Earth Gathering Space, the Bronzeville neighborhood, and nature itself, this Sunday afternoon event kicks off with a guided walk down the nature path at 2:00 PM, starting from the parking lot at East 47th Street and Cornell Drive. At the gathering space — located in Burnham Park — from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, activities include face painting, refreshments, instrument-making, a libation ceremony, storytelling with Mama Edie, an acoustic jam session led by SamThousand, and African drumming. Bring your own acoustic instrument to join in. The park is accessible anytime from 2 to 5 PM.
