Cuatro Mujeres: Nina Simone’s Four Women at Austin Town Hall

A four-part summer series from Old Town School of Folk Music's Community Ventures program uses Nina Simone's "Four Women" as a starting point for performances in South and West Side parks. The Tuesday, September 8 installment at Austin Town Hall Park, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, focuses on the character Peaches, placing her in dialogue with Obba, a feminine Orisha from the Afro-Cuban Lucumí tradition. This 60-minute piece features musicians Angel Bat Dawid and Fred Jackson Jr. with choreography by Ayesha Jaco.
