
Creating Classroom Libraries: Centering Representation in Children’s Literature
A full-day professional development workshop at the Field Museum, this session helps educators build classroom libraries that reflect the range of their students' identities and experiences. On Thursday, October 1, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, participants will hear a keynote from children's literature scholar Dr. Taraneh Matloob and learn practical strategies for selecting books that serve as both windows and mirrors. The day also includes a special viewing of items from the museum's Iran Collection and concludes with a meet-and-greet and book signing with Dr. Matloob. Ticket required.
