A local TreeKeeper from Openlands leads this workshop at Sulzer Regional on Tuesday evening, August 25, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, covering how to select, plant, and care for a tree that will actually thrive in your landscape. The session walks through choosing a planting spot that accounts for utilities, buildings, and sunlight, plus species recommendations for the Chicago region and how to match a tree to your budget and maintenance preferences. Openlands TreeKeepers are volunteer urban forest stewards, and this program is part of the library's supported Urban Forestry Programming.
