Liberty and the American Story explores how the idea of freedom has shaped—and challenged—the United States since its founding. Through historic illustrations, cartoons, posters, and other visual works created during times of conflict, the exhibition examines the many ways Americans have interpreted, celebrated, questioned, and debated liberty throughout history.
