Chicago's Electric Blues Heritage and History: Diddley Bow Workshop

A workshop on the history of Chicago’s electric blues and its connection to the diddley bow, the one-stringed instrument that some legendary guitarists started on. On Monday, October 5, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at the Rogers Park branch, musician Coco Elysses leads a 20-minute lecture on the instrument’s history, a performance, and a hands-on session where participants build their own cigar box guitar. Supplies are provided, and the program is open to all ages, including families with younger children. Registration is active and required.
