Chicago Onscreen at Avalon
Chicago Onscreen returns to Avalon Park on Friday evening, August 28, at 8 PM for its thirteenth annual program of short local films. The lineup includes seven works by Chicago-area directors, spanning narrative, documentary, and experimental forms — among them "The Protagonist Gene," "Taste of Community," and "What I Am Today: Maa Maa Dei." The screening runs just over an hour and is free to attend, making it a low-key Friday option for anyone who wants to see what emerging local filmmakers are up to.
