Chamula Pom-Pom Party
For Latine Heritage Month, the Lincoln Park Teen Room hosts a craft workshop exploring Chamula pom-poms — colorful yarn pieces made by the Mayan people of San Chamula, Chiapas, Mexico, used in adornments and clothing. On Tuesday, September 15, from 4:00 to 5:30 PM, a teen librarian demonstrates how to use a pom-pom maker in various sizes; supplies and snacks are provided. The event is open to teens ages 12 to 18. Registration is required by the start of the event, and a parent or guardian’s email address is needed for participants under 13.
