Benefits Access Support with Hunger Free America
Representatives from Hunger Free America set up at the Avalon branch on Tuesday, September 1, from noon to 2 PM to help anyone determine WIC eligibility or apply for SNAP benefits. You can drop in anytime during those hours — no appointment needed. The organization runs a local job training program that equips community members to provide this kind of benefits access support, so the staff you meet are likely neighbors who've been through the training themselves. Accommodation requests, including sign language interpretation, require at least 14 business days' notice by phone or email.
