Amateurs at River

An experimental theater piece that takes its title seriously: *Amateurs* follows four queer women with minimal ballet training as they work through the unpolished reality of adult recreational classes offered by the Chicago Park District. The performance blends dance, storytelling, and direct audience engagement — you're invited to join them at the barre. It plays for one hour on Thursday, August 20, starting at 5:30 PM at River Park in Lincoln Square.
