Amateurs at River

An experimental theater piece that takes adult recreational ballet classes as its subject and setting, performed at River Park. "Amateurs" follows four queer women with little ballet experience as they move between dance, storytelling, and connection, drawing from their own time in Chicago Park District classes. The performance runs Thursday, August 20, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM — a short, intimate show for anyone who’s ever felt clumsy in a dance studio and found something worthwhile in it anyway.
