Adulting Academy: Candle Making + Cost & Pricing Challenge

A Saturday afternoon workshop for teens 13 to 18 that treats candle making as both a craft and a business lesson. Participants learn about wax types, fragrances, and safe handling, then make their own candles. The twist is a pricing challenge where they calculate material costs, set a selling price, and talk through profit margins — a straightforward way to connect a hands-on hobby with entrepreneurship. Each teen leaves with their candle and a basic understanding of product development and budgeting. It runs Saturday, October 24, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the North Austin branch.
