Tinkering Time: Chess Club

Mr. Lee of the Chicago Chess Foundation runs a weekly after-school chess club at the West Loop branch for any kid who wants to learn — from total beginners to players who already know their opening moves. The Thursday session runs from 4:15 to 5:15 PM and is open to children ages 6 to 13. Registration is required, and since Chicago Public Library cannot collect personal information online from kids under 13, a parent or guardian’s email must be used to sign up. Note that the club does not meet on September 3 or November 26.
