Open Shop

Open Shop at the Harold Washington Library Center is a drop-in session for anyone curious about the library’s maker tools, from software questions to hands-on projects. On Thursday, December 10, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, you can get a brief overview of available programs, see what other makers are working on, and use equipment like laser cutters, a 3D printer, sewing machines, and hot glue guns. No registration is needed—just bring your project idea or your curiosity. If you need sign language interpretation or other accessibility support, requests must be made at least 14 business days in advance by calling (312) 747-8184 or emailing access@chipublib.org.
