Edgewater Community Music Jam

A community music jam at the Edgewater branch of the Chicago Public Library, open to acoustic musicians, singers, and listeners of all levels. The one-hour session on Saturday, October 17 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM includes group playing, smaller breakout groups, and social time; percussion instruments are provided, and participants may bring portable keyboards, strings, or brass and woodwinds, but no electric instruments or drum kits. Led by retired music teacher Mike Kennedy, the group plays from printed or projected music in folk, pop, jazz, classical, and seasonal styles. Registration is recommended though not required, and space may be limited.
